Onomatopoeia

We have been learning about onomatopoeia. We went down the the gully and listened for different sounds. We wrote poems about the gully sounds using onomatopoeia. You can read some of them here...

Playing Cricket

Stomp, stomp, stomp, the bowler runs.
Fwoosh, he releases the ball.
Thwack, the batsman hits it - it's a 6!
Stomp, stomp, stomp, the bowler runs again.
Fwoosh, he throws the ball.
Smash, he hits the wickets, he's out!
Pat, pat, pat, the batsman walks off the pitch.
