Save The Kiwi Writing

ZZZZZZZ, as the grey cloud lifts and the early morning sun shows, Ewik the Rowi Kiwi wakes to find he is sitting in a black box riding on a boat.

Ewik was extremely frightened, for he had never ever experienced this before and did not know what to do.

It took a very long time before Ewik found out that he was actually being rescued and delivered to a possum free island.

Ewik and his family were very relieved, for Ewiks brother had been attacked by possums the other day.

I hope this will make you save Kiwis too!

Finally, we're there. After a long boat trip, to get on land feels great. I'm with BNZ to release some Kiwi's.

It's early on a Wednesday morning and very cold. I'm jumping with delight.

"CHIRP!!!" "What was that?" "Oh, that was a Kiwi". "1, 2, 3, release".

Now the Kiwis are on a predator free island. When the Kiwi's are teenagers they will be put back on a predator island.

"Save me someone save me! The scary stoats are coming! SAVE ME!! I'm down here! HEEEELP! Somebody put me on stoat island! My favourite feathery friends are in furry danger!"

"I need my meeeeeal! Get the stoat AWAY from me and my burrow! Mu-mmy! Daaaaaddy! HEEEEEE-EEELP! Come on! 1 year later...

"Where is the egg? Oh that's right it's under me. Haaaa Haaaa! Hey here's the ranger. Yes you can take the egg".

week 8

GUESS WHAT!!!

This week room 20 had fun setting up and looking around sci-tech! In the last few weeks we have been preparing our alarm in a box for our class stand at sci-tech!

We loved watching the America's Cup. On Friday we were watching it in the hall.

We also started our Aboriginal art (dot painting).

We also got skyped by Jax!

On the 13th of September it was Roald Dahl's birthday!

Week 7

This week our class has been busy finishing our alarm in a box project for sci-tech.

We thought the patterns on people's boxes were really cool. Each person in our class had to have a maori design or symbol on their box. Most people chose to have a koru on their box.

We learnt how to make a circuit. The hardest thing was making the switch.

We had an awesome time this week.

Week 6

This week Room 20 has seen the year 6  production about the classical elements; wind, water, fire and earth. It had lots of comedy and music. We learnt that some things have to work together e.g. fire needs water most of the time so that it can be put out. We are looking forward to the next Year 6 production. I wonder what that will be like?
